| It has been very difficult so far this year between weather and other commitments, to get suitable evenings to continue my Mourne 500’s summit camps with the girls. I always keep a close eye on the weather and try to find suitable evenings. Thankfully, the evening before the longest day was one such evening. | |||

| We headed off later in the day as we had lots of daylight available and I also wanted to ensure that there would be some parking available in nearby Ott carpark after most of the daytime hikers had already left. | |||

| We headed most of the way up Ott track before turning right and heading directly to the summit. The temperature was mild with a light breeze. Just enough to keep the midges away for the most part. It was a beautiful evening followed by a fantastic morning. | |||
